Upgraded snoer to Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal. Other than the warning that my video card was no longer supported which could make the system unusable, there was no noticeable difference.
Also, I upgraded the mini pci-express card from an Intel 802.11g to an Atheros AR9285 AR5B95 802.11n. Unfortunately, this print on this pcb is half the height of the old card, and that means the antenna connectors are half-way the pcb. And the antenna cables are just a bit to short... I now used the WWAN antenna cables, which work, although reception is not optimal. I will try to insert a piece of wire in the wifi antenna cable to lengthen them and see how reception improves.
